Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of former Spartans midfield ace Michael Tait on an initial one month’s loan from Harrogate Town, with a similar deal also arranged with Bradford City for the loan of promising Central Defender Adam Robinson, subject to final confirmation from the Blue Square Bet Conference.

Tait requires no introduction to the Croft Park faithful, as he played with the Spartans for the previous two seasons, making a total of 82 apperances and scoring an impressive 20 goals into the bargain.
Spartans’ Manager Cuggy was delighted to have brought in the Blue Square North experienced midfielder stating “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to procure Michael for a month, as he’s a proven goalscoring midfielder at this level and is another piece towards completing the jigsaw.”
“The move to Harrogate hasn’t really worked out for him, so far, and I see it as a good move for all parties. The nasty injury to Shaun Vipond has left us short of numbers and bite in the central midfield area and Michael’s arrival will certainly give us increased options, he’s here for a month initially and we’ll see how it goes.”
“There has been quite a few changes in squad over summer at the club, but he is familiar with the club, the players who remain from last season and he knows some of the new lads, so it shouldn’t take him too long to settle in and he is raring to get going again with the club.”
“Harrogate have allowed Michael to play for us in the FA Cup, so that will mean that he’ll be available for our trip to Whitby Town the weekend after next, which could prove very handy.”
Adam Robinson
Adam Robinson (pictured right) is a 18 year old central defender – based in the North East – who has featured on the bench for the first team, but is yet to make a debut for the Bantams.
Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson will hope that the temporary move to Blyth will see the defender enjoy some competitive first team action in order to help the youngster’s progression, much in the same way of the successful loan of goalkeeper Mark Gillespie from Carlisle United midway through last season.
Upon completion of the deal, Spartans manager Cuggy commented “We really pleased to get Adam on board and I’d like to thank Bradford for their kind offer in loaning us one of their up and coming talents. We were initially offered him last week, but due to Adam being quite close to the first team picture, they won’t allow us to play him in the FA Cup, so with there was no immediate rush to push the deal through, but he will certainly come into contention for this Saturday’s home game with Worcester City.”
“Like the Tait deal, I see it as a good one for all parties and one which will hopefully see Adam gain some competitive first team football when he is with us. He trained with the lads last night and looked a very good player – tall, quick and a really good footballer – so we are hopeful he’ll do well for us.”
