Spartans sign Chris Emms

Blyth Spartans can confirm that manager Steve Cuggy has today secured the signature of attacking midfielder Chris Emms.

The 26-year-old started his career at Middlesbrough and has since played for Billingham Town, Gateshead, Spennymoor Town, ECU Joondalup (Australia) and Harrogate Town – Last season he was a member of the Spennymoor Town side that swept to the STL Northern League title.

Capable of playing on either wing or in the hole behind the frontline, it is hoped that Emms’ guile and creativity will provide ammunition for new striker Graeme Armstrong to feed from.

Welcome to the club Chrissy!
