Darlington’s draw with Gateshead on Saturday (giving them a 3-2 aggregate victory over Gateshead) will see the Spartans represented at Wembley in a small way, as Darlington’s young centre half, Dan Burn (pictured left), a product of the Blyth Spartans youth set up, heads out on to the Wembley turf to face Mansfield Town’s Steve Foster.
The 19-year-old, who stands 6 foot 8, has slowly but surely worked his way into Manager Mark Cooper’s first team plans, cementing his place since the turn of the year and should be involved in the Quakers trip to Wembley on the 7 May.
Foster, 36, enjoyed a spell with the Spartans towards the end of last season following his release from Darlington, but he moved back to his native Mansfield to sign for the Stags.
