Picton to assist Wade over next two games

After the departure of Assistant Manager Colin Myers, Blyth Spartans can announce that Monkseaton Academy’s Head Coach Lee Picton will be joining Tom Wade in the dugout for the next two games. A visit to Rushall Olympic on Saturday is quickly followed by Ramsbottom United’s trip to Croft Park and Wade is delighted to have accepted Picton’s offer of support over the next week.

“Lee is a hugely respected coach in the area so we are delighted to have him on board to help me over the coming games. He was a successful player and has taken that into coaching, he’s an honest lad and he will be a great help to me over what are two very tough fixtures”

Picton played for Whitley Bay and Morpeth Town during his playing career, winning two FA Vase winners’ medals with the Bay under the management of Ian Chandler. Since retiring Lee has gone on to coach with Newcastle United’s academy, as well as in his role as Head Coach with the Monkseaton Academy.
