The club can confirm that Phil Airey has been registered for the upcoming season as a Blyth Spartans player.
The Amble-born front man, who can also play at right back, was with the Spartans last season making 44 appearances and scoring 7 goals. He has trained with the lads over the summer and also featured in several of the pre season friendlies, but has also been on trial in Scotland with SPL side St. Mirren as he attempted to get back into the full-time game.
Phil will be in the squad to face Trafford on Tuesday night at Croft Park (kick off 7.45pm) as the Spartans face their first home game of the new campaign.
