Parker commits to Spartans

Danny Parker has signed a new contract with Blyth Spartans, meaning he will play a third season with the club.

The former Bishop Auckland centre back spent a large part of last season on the sidelines after suffering a facial injury against Whitby Town at Croft Park in August but came back into the side in the second half of the season.

Parker will be hoping to go past the hundred appearance mark for Spartans next season and build on a successful first two years at the club that included being part of the side that reached the FA Cup Third Round and won the Northumberland Senior Cup.

In his first season at the club Parker was also called up to an England ‘C’ representative side that faced a Northern League XI at Bishop Auckland.

Tom Wade was delighted to see Parker commit to the club once again

“Danny was unfortunate last season when he had that awful injury against Whitby Town but he came back into the side and did well. He is still developing and we think he can get even stronger next season. He is a sensible lad and is keen to learn and we are happy to see him continuing that at Croft Park”
