Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of Wales under-19 right back Alex Nicholson following his release by League One side Preston North End.
The 20-year-old, who is from Cramlington, started his career at Newcastle United, before moving onto the ‘Lillywhites’ and was loaned to Chorley towards the end of last season for their Championship campaign.
Nicholson has been with the Spartans throughout pre-season and has produced a string of solid displays in the friendlies to date.
