As announced on the match updates section of the website, Blyth Spartans have signed defender Dan Smith.
Smith, 23, started his career at Sunderland and made 3 first team appearances for the Black Cats. Whilst at Sunderland he also had a loan spell at Huddersfield Town where he made 8 appearances.
His career then saw him move to Scotland, where he played for SPL side Aberdeen and and then for a short period to St. Johnstone.
Last season Smith played for Gateshead, making 12 appearances for Ian Bogie’s side.
