New Match Reporter appointed

Blyth Spartans have appointed a new Match Reporter.

29 year old Mark Carruthers will take over from Andrew Dodds who had to relinquish the position due to work reasons.

Mark works in Houghton-le-Spring and writes a number of blogs on Newcastle United and wider football issues. He has gained an extensive knowledge of writing in a variety of styles to suit individual purposes and is interested in using social media in his new role.

“It was a shame to lose Andrew but it’s great to now have Mark on board. His enthusiasm is infectious and he will bring new strengths to the club,” said Spartans’ Media Manager Phil Castiaux.

“I’m delighted to have been given the chance to join Blyth Spartans, a name which is synonymous with non-league football in the north east,” commented Mark. “I look forward to working with everyone at the club and hopefully reporting on a season that will see us back in the Blue Square North.”
