Lewis Dickman announced as Assistant Manager

Blyth Spartans are delighted to confirm the appointment of Lewis Dickman as Jon Shaw’s assistant.

Lewis joins Spartans off the back of a stint as permanent first time manager at local rivals Spennymoor Town.

About his new appointment, Lewis said, ‘I’d like to thank Jon and the club for the opportunity to support and carry on the excellent work that Graham and Jon have initiated this season. I’ve known Jon a long time, his honesty, enthusiasm and drive along with his game understanding and experiences are things that I’m looking forward to helping him in delivering as we do our best to enjoy the rest of the season.’

On appointing his first number two, Jon Shaw said ‘I’m delighted to be able to bring Lewis on board. I’ve known him a long time and he’s one of footballs good guys. He knows football in the North East and the level as well as anyone.’

He went on to say, ‘He’s honest, hard working and humble with a fantastic understanding of coaching. He’s a great fit for Blyth and the squad we have will benefit hugely having him as part of the team’

The former SAFC Academy Manager finished off by saying, ‘The players have been very welcoming and their attitude to play the game in the way that they do is something that I’m excited in getting close to.’

‘I’m really grateful to come into the club at this time and thank everyone at the club for their genuine and friendly welcome. I’ve no doubt that the fans can enjoy the rest of the season and get behind the players as the brand of football that is being delivered at Blyth is a real credit to everyone at the club.’

Lewis will make his first official dugout appearance this afternoon as Spartans travel to Gloucester City.

Welcome to Blyth, Lewis!
