After making a big impact at Blyth Spartans last season goalkeeper Nick Thomson has agreed a short-term deal to stay with the club until he returns to the United States.

Thomson will be heading back to University in Boston in September but will remain a Spartans throughout pre-season and the early part of the new campaign.

After agreeing to stay he revealed the impact the club has made on him in his short time at Croft Park

“I have had a fantastic experience since I joined the club. The coaches, my team mates and the supporters have been very welcoming.

I will always be a Spartan and feel part of the club. I am excited to be part of the team and I am looking forward to working with the new keeper, whoever it is, and I will be ready to play whenever I am needed”
