The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League have released the fixtures for the 2014/15 season and Spartans have been handed a home game to kick off their campaign. Grantham Town will be the visitors to Croft Park on the opening day. The corresponding game last season was a Non-League Day fixture won by Tom Wade’s side last season thanks to late goals from Dan Maguire(pictured above) and Robbie Dale. The game will take place on Saturday 16th August.
Three days later Spartans face their first away trip as Tuesday 19th August sees them travel to last season’s Play-Off finalists Ashton United. It’s on the road again on the following Saturday with Matlock Town is the destination on that occasion.
The first of the new clubs in the division to face Spartans will be Halesowen Town. That game taking place on Saturday 30th August at Town’s The Grove Ground.
The busy Christmas period isn’t so busy this year with a Boxing Day home clash against newly relegated Workington and then no fixture until the New Years Day trip to Whitby Town’s Turnbull Ground.
Spartans final away game of the season will be at Witton Albion, the venue for one of the most memorable performances of last season as a nine men Spartans side triumphed by the only goal of the game. That takes place on Saturday 18th April, a week before they close their campaign with a home fixture with Marine.
