Gary Neasham leaves the Club

Leaving the club after 6 yearsBlyth Spartans regretfully announce that physiotherapist Gary Neasham has left after six years at the club to take up a full time position at Gateshead FC.

Appointed at the start of the 2003-2004 season under the management of Paul Baker, Gary has been with the club through the Unibond Premier Division winning season and the remarkable FA Cup run of 2008-2009 under Harry Dunn and has often been one of the busiest people at the club ensuring that the injured players are returned to the first team picture as quickly as possible.

‘Neash’ (as he is known to everyone at the club) said of his departure: –

It is with some regret that I have to inform you that I am resigning from my position as Physiotherapist with the club. This has been an extremely difficult decision for me and I have made it purely on the grounds of progression and my gradual migration into full time football. I will be joining Gateshead FC, week commencing 5th July to run their Medical Function in the Blue Square Premier.

From a personal perspective I would like to thank the club, officials, players, social club staff and supporters for their friendship and the opportunity to progress over the last six years. I have made many good friends and the help and support I have received has been second to none.

I will miss the club and the close relationship I have developed with Mick (Tait), Tony (Kennedy), Directors and the players but would hope that those who know me well will understand why I am moving on and how difficult this decision has been for me.

Finally, can I thank you for everything you have done for me it has been gratefully appreciated.

Suffice to say good luck to Mick and the lads for this year and progression up the league table.

I will cover activities as best I can in the short term and assist in the selection of a replacement.

The club would like to go on record to express their gratitude at the excellent work that Gary has done for the club in his time at Blyth Spartans and wish him the best in the future.
