Thursday afternoon brought news of the FA’s league allocations for the 2015/16 season and it brings with it a new opponent for Spartans, as well as some familiar faces.

First of all we say goodbye to Kings Lynn Town, who have been reallocated to the Southern Premier League.

There was also confirmation that Marine have been given a reprieve from relegation and will continue their tradition as one of our more regular opposition.

For new teams in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division we say hello to Hyde and Colwyn Bay, both clubs were relegated from the Vanarama Conference last season.

There is some respite from long journeys for Spartans with Darlington coming up from the First Division North, along with champions Salford City. Last season’s FA Cup opponents Mickleover Sports also come into the division.

A new opposition for Spartans comes in the form of Sutton Coldfield Town. The Royals move into the Premier Division after a play-off final win over another club we met on last season’s epic FA Cup run, Leek Town.
