Cramlington Town 2 Spartans U10s 1

After a couple of weeks off (again) with the weather, we went up to Cramlington on a nice sunny morning.  Arriving their we found the pitch was right next to the main east coast railway line – any closer and we could have hitched a ride to London!  After taking cover when the first few trains passed close by we got used to the noise and got on with playing a game of football.

Both sides were very closely matched throughout the whole game, which eventually came to life in the last quarter.  Kieron put Spartans 1-0 with five minutes to go.  We tried to keep the team organised for the restart, but Cramlington came straight back and equalised.   However, even worse was that they then came back and scored another to take the lead and the referee allowed no stoppage time for us to try and get an equaliser despite Parker being down injured and playe being stopped for a couple of minutes.
