Blyth Spartans would like to pass on their congratulations to neighbours Whitley Bay who won the FA Vase for a record third time, with a 3-2 win at Wembley.
Whitley Bay, managed by former Spartans striker Ian Chandler, aided by Steve Cuggy, Terry Burke and Glen Martin, featured Gareth Williams and Terry Burke in starting XI with Brian Smith (pictured left) coming off the bench to shore up the defence towards the end of the game.
Terry Burke was in fine form all afternoon and was awarded the Man of the Man award.
