The club noted the deplorable actions of a very small minority of our support during the excellent 5-1 win at Witton Albion on Saturday, a day when the vast majority of the Green Army conducted themselves in an excellent manner, receiving the praise of our hosts.
The club condemns the level of abuse handed out to one of our players and although we understand that supporters pay their hard-earned money to follow the club, we feel it is absolutely unacceptable to see a player treat this way by his own supporters.
There is a very positive atmosphere around the club at the moment and thanks to the hard work of the management, players and the overwhelming backing of the Green Army the club are having our best season for many a year. This incident will not be allowed to overshadow that and the club offer the unwavering support to the player involved and the management team.
