The club can confirm that left back John Brackstone has joined Northern League side Bedlington Terriers. Brackstone, 25, was signed by then manager Harry Dunn from Gateshead to fill the troublesome left back position and went onto make 50 appearances for the Spartans over two seasons. The club would like to thank John for his efforts at the club and wish him all the best in the future.
Blyth Spartans would like to thank all the attendees at Friday’s annual sportsman’s dinner, which once again was a very enjoyable evening for all. Centre Back Steve Foster has signed for Blue Square Premier side Mansfield Town. The 35 year old signed from League Two Darlington in the latter part of last season and went on to play 13 games for the Spartans. Blue Square North club Blyth Spartans have donated £2000 to help footballers who represent the Blyth Valley Disabled Forum. The gift will help the Forum, which provides services and activities for people with disabilities in south east Northumberland, to pay for transport and football kit.
