Due to the recent snow fall, the club regret to announce that Sunday’s charity match involving the crew of HMS Blyth has had to be cancelled.
Stephen Turnbull (pictured left) returned from suspension to claim the match ball in a convincing win over North Shields in the Quarter Final of the Northumberland Senior Cup. The draw for the First Round Proper of the FA Trophy has been made and has seen the Spartans drawn home to Fleetwood Town The tie will take place on Saturday 11 December 2010, kick off 3pm. The winner of the match will receive £5,000.
Saturday’s 1-0 win over Stafford Rangers saw young attacking midfielder Kris Wilkinson come off the bench in the second half to make his debut. The 19-year-old is a former England Schoolboy international and was signed by Mick at the beginning of the season, having trained with the Spartans during pre-season, since then he has featured in newly set up Gateshead Reserve side and has impressed with his performances so far….
