TEAM NEWS
After Tuesday’s close battle with bogey side Frickley Athletic, a trip to play off chasing Buxton is next on the cards. Blyth overtook Rushall midweek to continue the climb up the table but picking up points against the sides higher than ourselves is the main focus for Tom and the boys. Though Buxton have not won a home game since Boxing Day, they are currently sat fourth and one point off second placed Workington. They also boast the league’s top goalscorer in Liam Hardy, who has 18 to his name. A tough test for Blyth. Last season the game at Silverlands ended with a 2-1 home win.

Stephen Turnbull, Michael Richardson and new signing Craig Lynch made appearances from the bench on Tuesday night, and the three of them will be hoping for a starting place. Robbie Dale scored his 9 league goal from the spot against Frickley and almost clinched his 10th but for a penalty save. He will be looking to get their before joint top scorer Dan Maguire, who also came close at Croft Park.
