TEAM NEWS
Stamford are the visitors to Croft Park this weekend as Blyth look to bounce back after Bank Holiday Monday’s defeat to Darlington 1883 at Heritage Park. Last season saw Spartans knock four past Stamford and a repeat would get the team back on tracks heading into September. Stamford themselves have had an entertaining start to the season, finding themselves scoring 16 goals in the first five games they’ve played, yet only picking up 6 points. A strong 5-3 win at Whitby last Saturday will be the pick of their results as they look to make it a first win over Blyth in the club’s history on Saturday.

Robert Dale is currently the club’s top goal scorer this campaign with four in six games. Robbie was not on the score sheet in the Stamford games last season, with a comical own goal a highlight of the fixture back in February. Blyth’s defence will need to be alert to the goal scoring threats that Stamford possess but with an average of less than a goal a game conceded in the six games they should prove stubborn.

OPPOSITION MANAGER
David Staff – Appointed manager in May 2013. This is the player/manager’s third season in charge of The Daniels.

DANGER MAN
Greg Smith – a strong physical centre forward with pace who caused problems last season for both Stamford and Grantham Town.
