Blyth Spartans can confirm that striker John Alexander has left the club to join Northern League side Ashington.
Manager Steve Cuggy commented “We’ve left John to Ashington to allow him play first team football. With the new signing of Richard Offiong and with Glen Taylor and Phil Bannister regaining fitness, this is something that we could no longer guarentee John at Croft Park, so the move makes sense.”
“He’s a smashing lad, we would like to thank him for his efforts over the last month and wish him all the best and hope that he does well at Woodhorn Lane with (Ashington management duo) Gary Middleton and Richie Bond.”
