125 Years Anniversary Shirt – Proud Of Our History

Founded in 1899, 2024 sees the 125th anniversary of Blyth Spartans Football Club.

In his research for the history of Blyth Spartans, Ken Sproat discovered the first mention of a Spartans kit in the 20th November edition of the Blyth News, it was noted “Blyth Spartans wear a characteristically attractive costume – long glaringly red stockings and white shirts”.

With that in mind, we have produced, along with our kit supplier Errea, a predominately all white shirt to mark the occasion.

To keep the shirt as retro looking as we can, our shirt sponsors Texo have kindly agreed to allow this shirt to be printed without a sponsor.

The shirt has a grandad style collar and buttons with green side panels. The badge has been modified to have a gold embroidered Spartans helmet with 125 years underneath and the Errea logo will also be embroidered in white.

The first team will wear the commemorative shirt with white shorts and red socks for our 2024/25 pre-season campaign.

The pattern used for this special 125 year celebration is a fitted shirt, so will have a slight taper to the sides. The shoulders and length will be the same, but the shirt will be a tighter around the torso, unlike the current home shirt which is a ‘square fit.

The available sizes will be: children’s sizes (YXS to small) and adult sizes (medium to 9XL)

The shirts are expected to arrive in store around the middle of April, but you can pre-order yours now via the online shop here.

These shirts are limited edition with only 300 shirts available across the sizes and will be sold on a first come first served basis. We have kept the prices the same as this season’s kit – children £35 and adult £45.
