Blyth Spartans travel to Blackwell Meadows on Tuesday night as they face North East rivals Darlington

The Spartans were defeated 3-0 away at Hereford on Saturday, which save the club slip into 20th position in the National League North.

Toby Lees is still out, also missing out is Danny Barlow who suffered a fractured collarbone in the match against Guiseley.

OPPOSITION

Darlington currently sit fifth in the league table with 17 points, having won five of their opening nine games.

Alun Armstrong’s side won 2-0 against Peterborough Sports at home after a Mark Beck brace.

LAST TIME WE MET

The last time the sides met at Blackwell Meadows was the back-end of last season where Blyth was defeated 1-0 away from home.

In the reverse fixture at home last season, in November the sides matched each other in a 2-2 draw at Croft Park after early goals from JJ O’Donnell and Lewis McNall were cancelled out by Luke Charman and Andrew Nelson’s goals to secure a draw.

The Spartans last victory over North East rivals Darlington came in October 2017 at Croft Park in a 3-1 with goals striking from Adam Wrighton, Sean Reid and Robbie Dale.
