TEAM NEWS

Spartans remain without Nathan Buddle and Lewis McNall. Michael Liddle will be assessed after missing last weekend’s defeat to Boston United.

OPPOSITION

The Saints have had a poor run of form recently, winning just one of their last five league matches.

Most Recently they drew 1-1 at home to Kings Lynn Town after Adam Rooney’s early opener for Brackley was cancelled out by Kings Lynn’s Adam Crowther in the second half.

WHAT WE’RE SAYING

After a disappointing defeat to Boston, Graham Fenton said: “Hugely disappointing first half, just too many not at the races, not doing the basics.

“But look, we’re required to get results, so we’ve had some good but not enough and ultimately they’ve been very very clinical.

“So they haven’t had loads and loads of opportunities, but when they’ve had them their finishing was very very good. When we’ve had our little sniffs our finishing wasn’t very good.”

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

Following a draw to second-placed Kings Lynn Town, Roger Johnson said: “Yeah really proud, really really proud.

“I thought to the man we were outstanding and we’ve been in a tough spot the last few weeks in results.

“So to come out with a point with a performance like that, to stick to a game plan, exactly how they did, I’m really proud of every single player for what they did out there tonight.”

LAST TIME WE MET

At Croft Park back in November, the sides played a draw after Toby Lees’ equaliser in the 89th minute rescued a point for the Spartans.

Last Season at St James Park Blyth managed to pick up a win away from home as JJ O’Donnell’s goal on the hour mark was the only goal of the game.
