Grantham Town Sponsors

The sponsors lounge was once again full for Spartans last game of the season against Grantham Town.

Perhaps the most unusual sponsorship of the year was for Tom Hughes. Tom thought he was going on a survival weekend with his best man. Upon leaving his home in North London he was bundled into a white transit van by hooded kid-nappers. It was only after the van had been travelling for several minutes that the masks were removed and he was told  he was travelling to Newcastle for his stag party. Why Newcastle? Well Tom is an avid fan of the Football Manager game and his team, which he had never visited – Blyth Spartans. He has managed Spartans to 5 Champions League titles but was sacked by his chairman last week for wanting to build a 35,000 seater stadium. Tom was kitted out in Spartan attire his 13 friends wore more conventional gear.

The match ball sponsor was long term support and past Executive Committee member Gordon Young. Gordon was accompanied by his wife Dot and  other family members.
