Funerals | Rest in peace, Grace Ramsey and Ian Jackson

The Blyth Spartans family has been rocked by the tragic passings of Grace Ramsey and Ian Jackson this month.

Grace, wife of dedicated volunteer Doug, volunteered for the club for many years and worked in the clubhouse as a cleaner and behind the bar.

She unexpectedly passed away on September 10th. Our thoughts are with Doug, her friends and family at this extremely sad time.

Grace’s funeral will take place Friday, September 24th at 2.30pm at Cowpen Crematorium, with the wake held at our clubhouse.

Devastatingly, lifelong supporter Ian, most of whom know him as Wacko or Jacko, was also taken from us far too soon aged 57.

Ian was a Spartans stalwart, following the club home and away. He was a much loved member of our fanbase with a heart of gold and a great laugh.

A regular face on the terraces, he’ll be sorely missed. Our thoughts again go out to Ian and his family and friends.

Ian’s funeral will be held at Blyth Crematorium at 2:30pm on Friday, October 1st, followed by drinks in the Terrace club in Delaval.

His daughter Courtney has said people are welcome to wear Spartans shirts to honour his memory.

Rest in peace, Grace and Ian.
