Departure | Jeffries Comes Out Of Retirement To Sign For Shildon

peter_jeffries_2016-17Goalkeeper Peter Jeffries has signed for Shildon – after the Northern League club agreed a deal with release him from his Blyth Spartans contract.

Re-joining Spartans over the summer, Jeffries had announced his retirement from football earlier this season – after featuring in manager Alun Armstrong’s first game in charge against the keeper’s former employers.

However, the club retained Jeffries’ contract in the event he was ever needed as emergency cover at Croft Park. Following his change of heart, Spartans were happy to be paid an undisclosed fee by Shildon so that he can play competitive football again for the Northern League side.
