Prior to the home game against Guiseley, Colin Bassam from the Port of Blyth was on hand to present Jack Norton with the Port of Blyth Player of the Month for December 2009.
Today will see Mark Doninger attempt to secure a full time deal at Derby County as he plays for their reserves at Pride Park against Walsall. More news of the trial will follow later.

After a pitch inspection at 9.00am this morning the Club can confirm that tonight’s (Tuesday 12th Jan) match has been given the go ahead. Kick off time is 7.45pm. Please spread the word to all supporters you might have contact with to ensure a good turnout for this first home game since the previous round game against Ilkeston on 12th December
Should Blyth Spartans be successful in beating Guiseley in the 2nd Round of the FA Trophy, their reward in the 3rd Round at home to either Gainsbrough Trinity or Tamworth.
Our rearranged F.A. Trophy 2nd Round home tie against Guiseley, Tue 12th Jan 7.45pm KO, will be subject to a pitch inspection tomorrow morning.
