Founded in 1899, 2024 sees the 125th anniversary of Blyth Spartans Football Club. In his research for the history of Blyth Spartans, Ken Sproat discovered the first mention of a Spartans kit in the 20th November edition of the Blyth News, it was noted “Blyth Spartans wear a characteristically attractive costume – long glaringly red stockings and white shirts”.
