Despite the Blyth Spartans v Gainsborough Trinity fixture being listed on the BBC website and the footballwebpages.co.uk site, we can confirm that there is no game tonight at Croft Park. We do however face Newcastle Benfield away tomorrow night (Wednesday). Our next home fixture is on 9 April 2011 v Gloucester City (kick off 3pm).

Affectionately nicknamed ‘The Bull’ John Alexander made his 50th appearance for Blyth Spartans on Saturday against Vauxhall Motors and marked this milestone with a crucial goal just seconds before the half time whistle. When the Vauxhall Motors v Blyth Spartans game kicks off, it will mark the 200th time that the Spartans have competed in the league since their promotion from the Unibond Premier Divison in 2006. Of the Previous 199 games, the Spartans have been victorious 73 times, have recorded 43 draws and have been the losing side on 83 occasions.
