TEAM NEWS
Blyth are back on their midweek travels with a trip to Skelmersdale United. Currently sitting top of the league after seven games, the home side will be stiff opposition for Spartans as we come off the back of a poor 1-0 defeat at the hands of Buxton. Last season when we travelled to Lancashire a seven goal thriller took place as former Spartan Craig Hubbard bagged a hat-trick.

This year, we will be hoping to come away with all three points instead. The two teams have only ever met four times, but a total of eighteen goals have been accounted for so a good game is on the cards.

Dan Hawkins was selected in place of Paul Robinson for Saturday’s defeat by Buxton whilst Chris Bell started at right back for the missing Alex Nicholson, who was suffering from flu. Both players will be hoping their performances were enough to impress Tom Wade and increase their chances of starting against Skelmersdale. Apart from the possible return of Alex Nicholson, Wade will have the same squad to pick from for the journey to Lancashire.
