The opening month of the season has seen the Spartans struggle to pick up results that the pre-season optimism had suggested. The bright spot of the season openers has been the form of midfielder Stephen Turnbull.
Suspended for the first game of the season against Solihull Moors, Stephen has produced a man of the match performance in each of the remaining fixtures, picking up three goals in the process with the late equaliser against Corby Town and then an impressive brace in the equally impressive 3-0 win over Droylsden.
