Port of Blyth POTM – Apr 2011

DAN GROVES – APRIL 2011

Dan Groves

The month of April was, in fairness, a bit of a non-event for the Spartans – 6 games played, only 1 goal and 4 defeats and two draws – This saw the club slip from the fringes of the play offs to a 9th position.

One player who stood out during this run of games and remained focused on the job at hand, is young defender Dan Groves, who is named the Port of Blyth Player of the Month for April 2011.

Whole hearted, fully committed and by no means lacking in skill, he has played through a foot injury for the latter part of the season, in the unfamiliar role of right back and has been one of the main highlights of the season at Croft Park this season with his effective tackling and lung busting raids down the right wing.

Well done Dan!
