Spartans will be facing their second Northern League team in the space of five days as we travel to Newcastle Benfield tonight. After a 5-2 victory over local rivals Ashington, the team will be looking to continue their progress towards to the start of season fixture at Barwell, only 25 days away.
Michael Richardson came on a scored a hat-trick in the second half at Woodhorn Lane on Friday night, he will be looking forward to coming up against opposition of a similar stature.
Sean Reid scored his first goal for Blyth on Friday, he will also be giving the home teams defence problems as he continues his growth with the club after joining from West Allotment Celtic.
Former striker Paul Brayson plays for the hosts and managed to bag himself a goal in their most recent pre season tie against Seaton Delaval, which Benfield won 6-1.
