TEAM NEWS
Blyth will be hoping to end a 20 year campaign without holding the Northumberland Senior Cup tonight as we play head to head with local rivals Morpeth Town. The Northern League side are worthy opposition despite the league difference, having finished 8th in the competitive league. With the league for Spartans confirmed to be finished with on the weekend, the last fixture of a great season could see the players lift silverware, which would cap off nothing shy of a tremendous campaign.

Saturday saw Mathew Wade pick up a knock and taken off, he will be hoping to shake it off and feature at St James’ Park. Michael Richardson has 3 winners medals in his locker with Newcastle United, he will be hoping to make it 4 tonight with a strong performance against the Highway Men. Peter Jeffries made a return to the Spartans bench on Saturday after missing action for nearly 2 months with a hand injury, he may feature in the competition which he has played in every round.

A reminder of the rules of the competition tonight. 90 minutes of football shall be played as standard. Should the game end as a draw, 30 minutes of extra time will follow. If the 2 sides are still equal in scores, a penalty shoot-out will decide the winner of the Northumberland Senior Cup for 2014/15.
