MAN OF THE MATCH

David Knight

On a poor day for the Spartans all round, the only way that the score retained any level of respectability was the performance of goalkeeper David Knight.

The keeper, on loan from Histon, produced several saves at 0-0 and then continued to provide a solid last line of defence against a Gloucester City attack that often seemed to have the run of the park. He couldn’t have been faulted for any of the 4 goals that Blyth conceded and one of only a few players who could leave the field with any level of pride in their own performance.
