MAN OF THE MATCH
Robert Birdsall

Whilst the Spartans defence all played well, both individually and collectively, anytime the rear-guard was breached, Birdsall was on hand to snuff out any danger.

A fine blocking save at the end of the first half, where he charged out to meet the attacker, smothering the chance, saw the Spartans head into half time with their lead intact and the second half saw more of the same. Birdsall also came out to confidently claim the ball on occassions to relieve any pressure on the defence.

The game also saw the first clean sheet in a Spartans shirt for the popular Irishman.
