TEAM NEWS
On the road again, Blyth travel down to Derbyshire based Buxton FC in the hunt for points to reclaim the top spot from Darlington 1883. Tuesday night saw a frustrating draw at home to Ashton United, with chances not going in favour of Spartans. Our last trip on the road saw Blyth pick up three points in Colwyn Bay and a similar performance is required to take anything from our weekend visit at Buxton.

Buxton are currently 8th in the table and come off the back of two defeats on the road to Skelmersdale United and Ilkeston Town. But their home form boasts of four wins and the two defeats, which includes opening day heroics in beating title contenders Darlington 1883 2-0, back in August. Their main goal threat, Liam Hardy, has been ruled out for the Bucks as he recovers from a broken wrist. Spartans could see the return of midfielder Matthew Wade after he was left out of Tuesday’s match after picking up a knock at Colwyn Bay the previous Saturday. Last season’s result at The Silverlands ended in a 3-2 away win, with goals coming from Stephen Turnbull and a brace from Dan Maguire.
