TEAM NEWS
Cup action has been the highlight so far for Blyth fans this season with the FA Cup being the focus point. Tonight sees Blyth start their campaign in the Evo Stik’s Doodson Sports Cup, at home to fellow Premier Division side Frickley Athletic. The game comes days after the success under the camera spotlight as Spartans comfortably knocked out Conference side Altrincham out the FA Cup.

Entry for the game has been reduced to attract a crowd to spur on the Spartans players who haven’t of late had game time. The likes of Jonathyn Quinn, on loan from Newcastle United, Arran Wearmouth, Damon Mullen, Danny Parker and confirmed by manager Tom Wade to make his debut for Blyth is Sammy Perez, brother of Premier League statlet Ayoze, are expected to be given a start. Can Spartans add a third cup run to their ranks for the season tonight?

IN THE AWAY DUG OUT
Karl Rose – Ex Barnsley and Rochdale player, managed Goole AFC until being appointed in 2012.

DANGER MAN
Gavin Allott – big striker who has collected 11 league goals so far
