TEAM NEWS
Football is returning and as a way of easing everyone back into the swing of things, Tuesday night sees our first pre season fixture at home to Football League side Carlisle United. The game was agreed as part of the transfer of ex centre back Nathan Buddle to the Cumbrians in January. He has recently just moved back across to the North East, to Gateshead. But both teams will still be happy to get a game of football played which will be both a test of strength and fitness for both sides.

Blyth Spartans fans will be looking for the likes of Paul Robinson, Sean Reid and Adam McHugh to see how they fit into what is, in the majority, the same squad as last season. In the visitors’ strip, Blyth fans will remember the days when we had their current number one, Mark Gillespie, on a successful loan, and in his home debut he saved a penalty kick against Hyde United.

Spartans will be without Jordan Watson as the left back is currently spending a week on trial at Scottish side St Mirren and new signing Paul Robinson as he is away on holiday still.

OPPOSITION MANAGER
Keith Curle – Ex England International, has managed the likes of Chester City, Torquay United and Notts County.

DANGER MAN
Kyle Dempsey – the youngster burst onto the scene with his first professional campaign with Carlisle and really gave a helping hand in their survival in the Football League.
