TEAM NEWS
In what seems a lifetime since Spartans have been at Croft Park, a home, league tie will be taking place for the first time since the 1-1 draw against Ashton United back to 20th October. We welcome Barwell to the North East today after a re-arranged tie due to Matlock Town’s involvement in the FA Trophy. We started our season at Barwell back in August, with a 1-0 win, the goal coming from the spot, scored by Stephen Turnbull. Barwell are one of the surprise packages this season in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, currently finding themselves three points from a playoff spot, in a closely contested mid-table scrap.

A win for Blyth could see us move five points clear of closest rivals Nantwich Town, due to them playing in the FA Trophy, against Matlock Town, who eliminated us in the previous round. Player of the Month for November Damen Mullen went off injured last weekend at Marine He will be assessed before the tie. In-form Dan Maguire will be looking to continue his run of finding himself on the score sheet with his hard working style.

IN THE AWAY DUG OUT
Jimmy Ginnelly – ex Atherstone Town and Shepshed Dynamo

DANGER MAN
Anthony Carney – scored 3 goals in 3 games for Barwell, including a last minute penalty at Matlock last Saturday.
