Whitby Town(a) Match Preview

Saturday saw Spartans brought back down to earth as league title favourites Hednesford Town came away from Croft Park with a 2-1 win but now Tommy Cassidy’s side head to his former club Whitby Town tomorrow in the second game of their bank holiday weekend double header.

Midfielder Tom Berj missed the home defeat to Hednesford and is doubtful for the trip to the Turnbull Ground but is hopeful to be back for Saturday’s home fixture against Marine. Defender Carl Jones was back on the bench on Saturday and will be challenging for a starting lineup place whilst news is awaited on the fitness of Lee Mason.

Whitby Town have had a tough start to the new campaign and are still awaiting their first point but have played three strong sides losing their latest fixture on Saturday away to Buxton. A number of former Spartans lie in wait to face Cassidy’s side with Michael Tait, Graeme Armstrong, Alex White and Liam O’Mahoney all in the home side’s squad.
