Spartans manager Tom Wade was delighted with his team’s display and result at Grantham on Saturday.
The visitors sailed to a thoroughly convincing 7-1 win.
Wade said: “It was a great team performance. We rested a couple of players and will continue to do so on a rotation basis throughout the Christmas period. Danny Parker would have played at the weekend but had a bad stomach before the game. The lads who did come in did exceptionally well and when our three forwards are on fire they are unstoppable.
“We have no weaknesses in the squad so we have the luxury of being able to perm any 11 from 16 or 17. In the past we had a clear best 11 and that was it but nowadays all 17 can, quite rightly, demand a place in the team.”
