There will be a special guest at Croft Park, home of Blyth Spartans, on Thursday night.

The FA Cup will be paying a visit to South East Northumberland as Tom Wade’s side finalise their preparations for the First Qualifying Round tie at Spennymoor Town on Saturday.

Spartans hit the national headlines last season as they famously reached the Third Round of a competition that has brought many a memory to the Croft Park club throughout its history.

There will be press commitments for the trophy and Spartans players and coaching staff to take care of but there may be any opportunity for supporters to get their photos taken with the famous old trophy.

Training will be an open session at Croft Park on Thursday, with the gates opening at 6.30pm and the clubhouse will be open at the same time.
