The visitors led at the break 1-0 in a evenly balanced first half. The second half saw a dominant Spartans in full control as they looked for the equaliser, only to be undone by a 87th minute penalty, very much against the run of play.

After going a goal down, Patrick Almond scored his first for the club to level the scores just before half-time, before a wonder-strike from JJ O’Donnell and a header from Lewis McNall sealed the three points.
