Yesterday evening Blyth Spartans defender Andrew Cartwright was called up to the England ‘C’ Squad for their trip to Slovakia. ‘Carty’ was on standby in the contingency squad, but has now received a late call up for the International Challenge Trophy final held at the Mestsky Stadion in Ziar Nad Hronom. Blyth Spartan’s striker Dan Maguire has been awarded the Vanarama National League North Player of the Month Award for September – thanks to his fantastic form over recent weeks.
