With a positive performance against Marine narrowly missing out on all three points Spartans have the chance to make amends when they travel to Stocksbridge Park Steels, just two weeks after facing them at Croft Park on a night when Tommy Cassidy’s men ran out 5-0 winners thanks to an inspired second half show.
The Spartans manager should have a fully fit squad to choose from with midfielder Tom Berj hoping to return from the foot injury sustained in the previous meeting between the two teams but one player definitely out is striker Phil Airey who is unavailable. Spartans completed the signing of Neal Hooks on Monday and clarification is awaited from the FA and the league as to whether Hooks can make his return to the club in the game at the Look Local Stadium.
Since the game at Croft Park, Steels have played three games and only managed to pick up one point in the process. A draw at Stafford Rangers was followed up by defeats at home to Buxton and away to Worksop on Saturday. They currently sit third from bottom of the Evo Stik Northern Premier League although will be looking to pick up their first win of the season in front of their supporters.
