Programme Preview vs Hyde United

Blyth Spartans hope to build on Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Mickleover Sports when they take on Hyde United at home on Tuesday.

Tom Wade’s side, on the back of two straight defeats, turned their fortunes around at the weekend with a dominant display over the Derbyshire side who barely had a sniff during the 90 minutes at Croft Park.

And Spartans are back in front of the home crowd again on Tuesday as they look to put a run of form together to stay in the race at the top of the Evo-Stik Premier League.

Wade said that Saturday’s performance was one of his side’s best, and you can enjoy the rest of his thoughts in this week’s Matchday Magazine.

The boss, in his programme notes, speaks of Sean Reid’s impressive performance on Saturday, two wonder-strikes from the game and the challenge of facing a side recently relegated from the Conference (now National League) North.

Elsewhere in the issue, club historian Ken Sproat rounds off September from Spartans’ season 50 years ago in Most Famously and Luke Bidwell has an update from other fixtures in the league over the weekend in Elsewhere in the Evo-Stik.

Articles from Jonathan Lillico and Malcolm Stephenson are also on offer in this week’s issue, which is on sale from the usual places for £2.
