Blyth Spartans travel to the Jakemans Community Stadium as they take on Boston United in the National League North.

The Spartans are hoping for a different match outcome as they suffered a 4-1 defeat to Hereford FC last Saturday.

Rhys Evans came off with an injury in the last game and will be assessed for Saturday’s fixture.

OPPOSITION

Boston currently sits 9th in the National League North, after being beat to Darlington 2-1 last time out.

The Pilgrims have won two of their last six games, however, they have managed to score in 11 of their last 12 games.

WHAT WE’RE SAYING

Speaking after the defeat manager Terry Mitchell said: “We’ve shown we can beat the top eight sides, but when we play the right teams around us we need to get it right.

“If we cut out the individual errors, we’ve got more than enough.”

Manager Paul Cox said: “The boys have got to bounce back as we have got a big home game on Saturday and hopefully we can put some things that went wrong today and put them right.”

LAST TIME WE MET

The last time we met Boston managed a 1-0 victory at Croft Park in October. 

The last time the teams met at the Jakemans Community Stadium was in November 2019 as Boston won 2-0.

The last time Spartans defeated Boston was in April 2019 when Blyth won 3-0 as Michael Liddle, Sean Reid and Dan Maguire all scored.
